The Isca Morrismen Regular Activities
The Isca Morrismen perform at a variety of different activities each year and are one of three traditional morris dancing groups to be found in Wales (all based in South Wales). Morris Dancing is a national dance form that dates back many centuries requiring large amounts of energy, grace, stamina and team spirit. We perform for many people each year bringing entertainment and enjoyment of this art form and refresh our energy levels by including copious numbers of traditional real ale establishments amongst our venues.
The map below shows the parts of South East Wales where we usually perform:

During the main dancing out season, the Next Appearance choice is updated once or twice a week in order to show you the latest event. The full programme of events expected for the year is covered under the pages selected by the choices on the left:-

1. Events including Weekly Tours - details of our full weekly touring programme - usually every Wednesday at two pubs from around 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
2. Family Weekend - Information on our Family Weekend which has taken place on the weekend of the second Saturday after the August Bank Holiday. The weekend when run is based around one of our regular pubs in Monmouthshire and features a coach tour of South East Wales on the Saturday and massed dancing over the Sunday lunchtime at the resident pub. Our family weekends in the past have involved as many as 17 to 20 sides travelling to Wales each year for the weekend; although nowadays we run a scaled down version involving 3 or 4 sides.
3. Major Events - Information and a selection of snapshots from our previous bookings, tours and weekends with other groups.

Our full annual program is usually fixed each year during the first three months and due to the large number of requests that we receive we are only ever able to fulfil a small part of the demand. So if you do wish to book us for an event then please give us ample warning. An up to date list of contacts can be found on our Contacts and Feedback page
In addition, our thanks are due to the late Harry de Caux for providing the superb local sketches used in all of our publications and to the local CAMRA branch for the underlying basis of the map shown above.

This year we are delighted that our traditional dancing programme is being sponsored by local Welsh Breweries, producers of excellent real ale to whom we are grateful for their wholehearted support.
Please enjoy their real ales and visit their websites to learn more by clicking on the pictures.
We also acknowledge the support and encouragement of The Mount Pleasant in Old Cwmbran, our after-practice venue during the winter.
